[One of the few things Lys is Not Shit at includes, to everyone's surprise, something delicate and artistic like paperfolding. She finds it soothing, less frustratingly cerebral than reading and more physical than meditating. Her big brother was always better at it—more confident during the creation, had more shapes memorized—but Lys isn't a complete slouch. Paper was easy to find after leaving home, cheap and readily available in the bigger towns that lay close to trade routes, so she's been able to keep from getting too horribly rusty.
On the nameless island, she decides to send some to Annette purely on a whim, at least until she's told to knock it the fuck off: cats and rabbits, birds and squirrels, even fish and otters.
